MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota’s Avera Race Against Cancer is setting a new attendance record.  More than 77-hundred people participated in the event across the area Saturday.  That’s a thousand more than the race’s previous record.  The largest race was in Sioux Falls. There was also a race event held in Mitchell, Aberdeen, Pierre, Yankton and Marshall, Minnesota.  People from all over the country came out to support cancer patients.  Each year, the funds raised go directly toward helping patients locally in the region.
