Former Secretary of State John Kerry will not rule out running for president in 2020, he said in an interview with CBC television.

“Talking about 2020 right now is a total distraction and waste of time. What we need to do is focus on 2018. We need to win back the confidence of the country to move in a better direction, and to do it in sensible ways,” he told “Face the Nation” anchor Margaret Brennan.

Asked whether he is going to run for president, Kerry said he is going “to continue to be an activist” and “to continue to fight”.
