Alabama projected to win SEC in 2021 preseason

Following SEC Media Days, media attendees predicted the University of Alabama Crimson Tide to be No. 1 in the SEC West and to win the SEC Championship.

Alabama claimed 130 first-point votes and 932 points to take the West while the Texas A&M Aggies are predicted to come in second with 760 points.

The University of Georgia Bulldogs received 124 first-place votes and 923 votes to win the SEC East but fall short in the SEC Championship against Alabama.

For the SEC Championship, Alabama received 84 points, while Georgia received 45 points.

The Crimson Tide also beat the league record with the amount of players placed on preseason All-SEC teams. Alabama currently has the league high record of 16, while Georgia and Auburn University have 10 players each.

Kickoff for the Crimson Tide football season will be on Sept. 4, 2021, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta against the University of Miami Hurricanes.
