Northern governors meet with US Secretary of State, John Kerry in Washington

10 of the 19 Northern state governors who are currently on a week-long working visit to the US, met with U.S secretary of State, Sen. John Kerry at the State Department.

5The meetings according to media reports focused on deepening collaboration on conflicts elimination, prevention, humanitarian aide and partnerships on the solving development factors responsible ‎for recurring ethno-religious violence in northern Nigeria.

The State Executives who made the trip are Governors Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara, Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger, Darius Ishaku ‎of Taraba, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto, Bindo Jibrilla of Adamawa, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi, Kashim Shettima of Borno and Deputy Governor of Kano State, Professor Hafiz Abubakar who is representing Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State.
